4 Nigerians among 5 held under ICT act

Four Nigerians among five people were arrested in Dhaka today in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

The arrestees are, Nigerian citizens Muhammad Auwalu Adamu, 25, Odibobhahemen James, 29, Olorunfemi Daniel, 31, Mohammad Adamu, 25, and Bangladeshi female, Jayon Ara Riya, 18.

A team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested them after raiding a house in Nobaber Bagh area following a case lodged with Paltan Police Station, Ahsan Habib Palas, special superintendent of police of Specialized Investigation and Operation, said at a press conference held at his office.

The PBI team also seized around four laptops, eight mobile phones, many Subscriber Identification Modules and some pen drives during the raid, Palas said.
