2 more held over pregnant mother shooting
Law enforcers arrested two more people in connection with the shooting of an eight-month pregnant mother in Magura during a Jubo League factional clash from Signboard area in Narayanganj this afternoon.
The arrestees, Sagor, 23, and Bappy, 20, are No. 7 and 8 accused in the case, Imaul Haque, officer-in-charge of detective branch (DB) of police in Magura told The Daily Star.
The arrestees will be taken to Magura for trial in the case filed over the incident, he added.
Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Shumon Sen, 30, the No. 1 accused in the case, from Kalyanpur area in the capital last afternoon, while police arrested another accused in the case, Nazrul Islam, 30, after raiding a Dhaka-bound bus in Shreepur upazila of Magura around 6:30pm yesterday.
Law enforcers have so far arrested six people in this connection.
The baby suffered bullet injuries when her eight-month pregnant mother was shot in the abdomen during an attack by a Jubo League faction on another faction on July 23 in Magura, which left one killed and another person injured.
