Lisa Ray shot “Veerappan” with fractured toe

Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming film “Veerappan” has Lisa Ray in an important role in a de-glam avatar. The actress, who is currently shooting for the movie, was spotted at the trailer launch of the movie but with her foot in a cast! When asked about it, Lisa revealed that she had hurt herself while shooting for a scene, which required her to maneuver a two-wheeler. 

The actress told a daily, “I am always open to challenges. During the shoot, I was supposed to take a turn. The first shot was filmed perfectly, but during a retake, when I had my co-star sitting behind me and I should have been more careful, I accelerated, which made me lose control. Since the bike would have ended up in a pond, I jumped off. Luckily, my co-star was unhurt or I would have been guilty about the same.”

In spite of hurting herself during the shot, Lisa had no idea that she had fractured her toe. It was only when she was in Hong Kong a couple of weeks ago that she had an X-ray taken to determine the excruciating pain. It was then that the fracture was confirmed. Although instructed by her doctor to take it easy, Lisa has decided to continue shooting. “I shot with a fractured toe, but it's all worth it as the trailer is being received well,” she added.
