Deceased Md Emdadul Hossain, 60, who used to live near Bahadurpur polling centre of Mothurapur Union Parishad, went to the centre to observe the situation out of curiosity when the incident took place, reports our Pabna correspondent.
A clash ensued around 7:00pm when a group of people started to hurl brickbats at the polling centre alleging that the officials concerned were delaying to announce election results, said Subrata Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Chatmohar Police Station.
BGB men opened fire to disperse the group, he added.
Emdadul died on the spot this time while five others including a BGB man were injured, said the OC.
