Killing aimed at putting govt in trouble: Ashraf
Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam today said that incidents like recent frequent killings are being carried out to put the government in a difficult situation.
“We wouldn’t take it easily,” the AL leader said while talking to reporters at the party president's Dhanmondi office after a meeting with leaders of the party's front and like-minded organisations.
“Our prime minister in her speech told that the people, especially bloggers and cultural activists are being killed in a planned manner only to invite troubles for the government,” Ashraf said.
Ashraf, also public administration minister, warned of action through due legal process. “We will not allow anyone to get away after carrying out these incidents,” he added.
Responding to a query, he said Olama League has no affiliation with AL. Many people nowadays are using Awami League’s name for their own interests, he added.
