JUST closed after students’ demo

Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) was closed today for 15 days following demonstrations of students over the suspension of four of their fellows on sexual harassment charge.

The resident male students were asked to vacate their dormitories by 6:00pm today while female ones by 9:00am tomorrow.

The decision came at a Syndicate meeting of the university held this afternoon, public relations officer of the university Hayatuzzaman Mukul said.

Several days ago, the JUST authorities suspended four students after the allegation of harassing a female student of the university against them was proved.

Since then, a group of university students were staging demonstrations protesting the decision.
