BNP says ready to cooperate with govt

BNP today said it is ready to cooperate with the government with its experience in combating militancy in the country.

The party also called upon all, irrespective of their political identities, to come forward with their all-out efforts to combat militancy on the basis of national unity.

“BNP is the most experienced and successful government considering its combat against militancy from the country. Our party is ready to assist the government in a bid to combat any kind of militant activities,” BNP senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed said at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan central office this morning.

Lambasting the government for blaming BNP for the recent incidents of killing, Rizvi said the government is blaming BNP as it wants to hide masterminds.

“The fact is that the government is yet to find out any clue of those much talked-about killings,” Rizvi said in a written statement.

“We urge the government to stop patronising militancy. Find out the militants and give them exemplary punishment instead of blaming BNP for those attacks,” added Rizvi.
