Businessman’s body found at Chawkbazar house, wife held

Law enforcers recovered the body of a businessman from his rented house at Chawkbazar in Dhaka last night.

The body of Md Jamil, 33, was recovered from under a bed of a flat on the first floor of a four-storey building around 11:45pm, Shamimur Rashid Talukder, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar Police Station, told The Daily Star.

They detained the businessman’s wife and two others for interrogation, the OC said.

The body of Jamil, the owner of a sellotape factory in the Old Dhaka, bore marks of bruises on his neck and entire body.

Police sent the body to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy, the OC said.

After primary investigation, it is suspected that his death might have been linked to an extramarital relationship, the OC added but he did not elaborate on the matter.
