7 injured in N’ganj factory fire

Seven people sustained burn injuries as fire broke out at an edible oil factory in Narayanganj this afternoon.

The fire broke out at Meghna Seed Crushing Factory in Meghna Ghat area of Sonargaon at around 3:00pm, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.

Among the victims, Faisal, a 26-year-old worker of the factory, suffered 75 percent burns while Rana, 22, suffered 43 percent.

The others are Abdul Hai, 25, Mahbub, 32, Humayun Kabir, 35, Masudur Rahman, 35, and Motaleb 28.

All the injured were rushed to burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Izabul, assistant manager of the factory.

The reasons behind the fire could not be known immediately.
