2 polls officials killed in Thakurgaon road crash

Two polling officers were killed as a bus hit a motorcycle they were riding towards a polling centre on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila this morning.

The victims are Bimol Chandra Roy, 35, assistant teacher of Darajgaon Government Primary School; and Firoza Begum, 30, assistant teacher of Kaleswargaon Adorsha Government Primary School in the upazila.

They were going to discharge duties as polling officers at Baragram Government Primary School polling centre, Presiding Officer Rashedul Alam said.

The Panchagarh-bound bus from Dhaka hit their motorbike at Munshirhat village around 7:00am, leaving them dead on the spot, our Thakurgaon correspondent reports quoting the presiding officer.
