Combined panel boycotts chess polls
The combined panel has decided to boycott today's election of Bangladesh Chess Federation, alleging irregularities and nepotism in the voters' list. The panel has also termed the elections, which has seen a few twists and turns over the last few days, a farce.
Mokaddes Hossain, the general secretary candidate of the panel, said “the voters' list has been prepared by excluding a lot of chess organisers.”
Earlier in the day, the National Sports Council, through an appeal to the supreme court, earned a stay order on the original stay order issued by the high court on the previous day to halt election procedures for three months.
