Brothers safe from relegation
Brothers Union will not have to worry about relegation now since their last game of the Dhaka Premier League against the Legends of Rupganj was washed out today.
The game was originally supposed to take place yesterday. However, the umpires however, had deemed the wicket unplayable following the morning rains yesterday. And hence, the game had to be shifted to today.
It was however, a surprising move considering the fact that the ground the BKSP has a good slant and also has a high-quality drainage system.
A similar story unraveled today. Following the morning showers, the umpires decided that it would not be possible to conduct a match at the BKSP and hence called off the game in the afternoon.
As a result, both teams received one point each. Soumya Sarkar’s Legends of Rupganj, who had a chance to top the table finished fourth while Brothers finished with nine points. The bottom two teams have four points each and as a result, Brothers will have nothing to worry about during the relegation matches.
Rupganj, on the other hand, had already booked a place in the Super League and the result of the match won’t make any difference to their campaign.
