JMB man arrested in Bogra
An alleged member of the killing squad of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was arrested from Baganbari area in Sherpur municipality of Bogra yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Shagor Ahmed Rony, 30, son of Kamruzzaman alias Lal Chan of Dasmari village under Motihar upazila of Rajshahi, reports our Bogra correspondent.
Rony who is also a member of JMB Eshaba (killing) squad, works in a shop of JMB leader Muzahid whose motorcycle was used for the killing of a Rajshahi University teacher Prof Rezaul Karim.
Akhter Hossain, additional superintendent of Bogra police said, Rony, along with some of his fellow miscreants, was planning to conduct subversive activities and killing missions in the area.
Acting on a tip-off, a Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) team raided a house at Baganbari and arrested him, while his cohorts managed to flee. The team also seized 21 zihadi books from his possession.
Later, a case was lodged under anti-terrorism act with Sherpur Police Station yesterday afternoon.
