EU to give $2.26m for Roanu victims
The European Commission will provide US$ 2.26 million for the victims of cyclone Roanu in Bangladesh under humanitarian grounds.
The European Commission, in a press release, declared the aid for assistance to population affected by the tropical storm that struck last month.
“This EU contribution underlines our commitment to the people of Bangladesh who have lost their homes, their belongings and their sources of income in the wake of Tropical Storm Roanu”, said Christos Stylianides, EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management.
“It will enable the delivery of life-saving humanitarian aid to the most affected populations, helping them restore their livelihoods at the earliest possible,’’ said Stylianides.
