Barsha Mangal Utshab held in Thakurgaon
Barsha Mangal Utshab was held on Thursday evening at Lokayan Museum premises at Akcha village in Thakurgaon sadar upazila.
The programme included renditions of Tagore, modern and folk songs themed on monsoon.
The soiree began with a choral song “Borisho Dhora Majhe Shantiro Bari”, followed by 'Esho Nipobon-e”, “Pagla Hawar Badal Dine”, ”Ei Je Gari Dhoria Jan Garial” and more.
Following the Barsha Mangal Utshab, at a discussion the speakers said that the beauty of monsoon is incomparable.
The discussants also said that Rabindranath presents a vivid picture of the country's six seasons, especially the monsoon, in his songs. Lokayan Museum, an initiative of ESDO, organised the well attended programme.
Lokayan Chairman Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman said in his speech, “We have taken a different initiative to preserve objects that represent the lifestyle of our common people, like farmer's hat, fishing materials, ploughs, indigenous weapons used for hunting, local musical instruments, documents of agreements between landowners and farmers, and rural attire.”
