Maybe sometimes my fans are hurt at my brusqueness - Kona

One of the most popular singers of our times, Kona is a natural with powerful hit songs. Despite a flurry of stage shows, live TV shows, audio albums, playbacks and jingles, she finds time for appearances in TV plays. She recently released a much appreciated music video. The multi-talented singer talked about the role of music in her life:

How does music figure in your life?

Kona:
Since my childhood, I was told I sang well. Whoever I met asked me to sing for them. To me, music is one of the parts of my body, like my hands and eyes.

Tell us about your journey to success as a singer.

Kona:
I've garnered success. Since my childhood, I wanted to do many things in my life. Besides rendition of songs, I've done playbacks, stage shows, live TV shows, audio albums and title songs for TV plays and jingles and voice overs for TVCs. Currently, I'm enjoying my success which was my long-cherished dream. I'm very happy that my songs have reached the people.

Which medium -- stage show, playbacks, TV and audio – do you most like to do?

Kona:
My work is very important, whatever the medium. I love performing and it is my priority. I love to work and I can't imagine spending two days without it.

Does your large fan following get irksome sometimes?

Kona:
In most cases, fans hurriedly come to me for a photograph. The most irritating thing is the smartphone. Maybe sometimes my fans are hurt at my brusqueness, but I don't have an option. I get distracted after such photo sessions.

Tell us about your recent music video “Reshmi Churi Kona”?

Kona:
I released a solo album after four years, and frankly, I did not expect that viewers would receive it so warmly. I hope the song will entertain my fans for a long time.

How do you usually start your day?

Kona:
I used to start my day playing the harmonium, but now I wake up to the ringing of my cellphone. I usually start by planning my schedule for the day.
