Dhaka raid militant Abdullah’s aide held in Dinajpur
Detectives today arrested an allegedly close aide of Abdullah, one of the militants killed in Dhaka raid, from Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur.
The arrestee, Alamgir Kabir, 24, son of Nurul Huda of Ballavpur village under Nawabganj upazila of the district, is also an alleged active operative of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), reports our Dinajpur correspondent quoting police.
Acting on a tip-off, a DB team, led by Sub-Inspector Bazlur Rashid, raided his home in Nawabganj upazila around 3:30am last night and arrested him with six crude bombs and two sharp weapons.
“He was a close friend and aide of JMB operator Abdullah who was killed during the raid at Dhaka’s Kalayanpur area on July 26,” said SI Bazlur Rashid.
Later, Senior Judicial Magistrate Gopal Chandra placed him on a three-day remand after he was produced before the court with a seven-day remand prayer, the police official added.
