5 ‘militants’ held in Dhaka
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today detained five alleged members of newly formed militant outfit Al Ansar, including its chief coordinator, from Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab conducted the raid early morning and detained Hafez Mawlana Md Rashidul Alam, chief coordinator of the outfit, along with four of his associates, said Ruhul Amin, assistant director of Rab-2.
A huge number of jihadi books and training manuals were also recovered from their possession, he added.
The elite force will brief journalists about the identities of the detainees and other details of the newly formed militant outfit.
