BD women off to Ireland
Bangladesh national women's cricket team left for Ireland early on Friday morning to play two T20 Internationals and two One-Day Internationals.
The visitors are scheduled to meet the Irish side in the T20I on 5 and 6 September followed by the ODIs on 8 and 10 September. All matches will be held at the Bready Cricket Club in Londonderry.
Bangladesh are travelling without their most experienced cricketer, Salma Khatun. Salma was left out of the squad due to a shoulder injury. Regardless, the squad, led by Jahanara Alam is confident of winning all four games.
The last time Bangladesh travelled to Ireland was back in 2012 when they played a one-match ODI series against the hosts and lost that. This time however, the team is much more confident and experienced, Jahanara told reporters prior to the team's departure.
In terms of rankings, Bangladesh are placed above Ireland in ninth position, while Ireland are tenth.
