The newborn girl, who cried out at the graveyard when family members were preparing to bury her after a doctor declared her dead on Thursday, has been admitted to Square Hospital in Dhaka for proper treatment.

The baby was brought to the capital on a helicopter along with her father, grandfather, and a nurse around 7:45pm, Shamimul Haque, an uncle of the baby, told our Faridpur correspondent.

She is now undergoing treatment in Neonatal Incentive Care Unit (NICU) of the hospital, said hospital sources.

Solaiman Shukhon, head of marketing at Aamra Networks Ltd, told The Daily Star that he arranged for the helicopter on behalf of a friend in Hungary who does not want to disclose his name.

Shukhon confirmed that the baby has been admitted to the hospital and said, "We will arrange for funds for the baby's treatment if needed."

Earlier in the day, Dr Khandokar Md Abdulla His Sahad, a child specialist of Faridpur General Hospital, and head of the team for treatment of the baby, Galiba Haiate, confirmed that she is doing well in an incubator after examining her around 9:50am, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

"The baby is responding better than before, so she can be shifted to Dhaka by a well-equipped ambulance," the doctor said.

We tried our best, but she needs treatment at a Neonatal Incentive Care Unit (NICU), he added.

Umay Salma Tanjia, the Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur, visited the baby around 10:00am today.

She asked the management committee of Dr Jahid Memorial Child Hospital to form a probe body of six members led by KM Kamrurjaman, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (REV) of Faridpur.

After being informed about the physical condition of the baby by the doctors, she said that she would talk to the authority of Dhaka Child Hospital.

Dr Arun Kumar Biswas, a civil surgeon in Faridpur, told The Daily Star that the probe body and the treatment team members have already started their work.
