Chitrangada staged in Bogra
Rabindranath Tagore's famous dance-drama "Chitrangada" was staged, in honour of reputed Tabla player Enamul Haque Omar, at Shaheed Titu Millenayathan in Bogra on Friday.
Renowned local cultural organisation Amra Ka'jan Shilpi Goshthi(AKSG) staged the dance-drama.
The programme began with the popular song of Tagore "Tumi Mongal Koro, Nirmol Koro" to greet Omar to the stage.
Before staging the dance-drama, a short discussion was held, presided over by Engineer Ramjan Ali, adviser of AKSG.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bogra Md. Asaduzzaman was the chief guest, while Additional Deputy Magistrate (ADM) Avijit Roy, poet-writer of the district Bazlul Karim Bahar, singer-educationist Mrinal Kanti Shaha, General Secretary of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote Abu Sayeed Siddiki, president of AKSG Abdus Salam Polash also attended.
The programme was presented by secretary of AKSG, Lion Abdul Mobin Zinnah and Tanjila Selim.
Finally, spectators enjoyed the dance-drama in which Anna, Kheya, Shohag, Ripon, Anusha, Anti, Mumu, Tasnia, Puja, Neha, Megha, Ovi played the lead roles.
