India extends easy visa rules for Bangladeshi women

India has extended the scheme that enabled Bangladeshi women travelers to deposit tourist visa applications without prior appointment dates or e-token.

From October 15 2016, Women travellers with confirmed air, rail or bus tickets can deposit their tourist visa applications without prior appointment, said a press release issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka today.

The women applicants can also deposit Tourist Visa Applications on behalf of the immediate family members accompanying them to India from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Indian Visa Application Centre, Sector-7, Road 18, House 56, Uttara, Dhaka-1230.

Women applicants and their family members seeking visas will need to have confirmed journey tickets with them when they apply (to be shown at the time of entry), according to the media release.

The date of journey should be 7 days after but within a month of the submission of the visa application form.

India has extended the facility to Bangladeshi women and their family members to facilitate ease of securing visas and to strengthen people-to-people contacts between India and Bangladesh, said the press release.
