SHOUT Hotshots: Gameweek 9

Gameweek 8 was one of those weeks when all your big guns fail to shine and you be happy with a lowly score. Most captained Sergio Aguero and in-form Christian Benteke both missed penalties and provided a sorry -1 each, but Junior Stanislas scored twice and assisted two to bag 21 points. 

Here are eleven players who may save your day in Gameweek 9, as we look to make up for last week’s ‘not so high’ total. 

After last week’s shutout against Crystal Palace, West Ham goalkeeper Adrián will be determined to keep another clean sheet against a Sunderland side that have scored a league worst six times in eight games. 

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny managed only a solitary point last week, but a repeat of that looks unlikely. We expect the Frenchman to fetch points at both ends of the ground against Middleborough, who have only netted seven times in eight matches so far. 

Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker will face Bournemouth, who hammered six past Hull in GW8, but we know last week’s solitary point meant just a bad day in the office for the English defender. 

Watford defender José Holebas has scored two times already, thanks to being fielded as an out-of-position player, and you will definitely fancy his chances against second from bottom Swansea. 

Although Alexis Sanchez mastered only an assist against Swansea, you have a feeling he will score against Middleborough this week. His team-mate Theo Walcott is in scintillating form, netting five goals already, and there is no way you can drop them. 

Not a big name and his club is second from bottom, but Leroy Fer has already scored four times, and at 5.3m, he is too good to be ignored when the Swans play Watford at home. 

Stoke midfielder Joe Allen is probably having his best time in EPL, four goals in three matches make the 4.9m priced Welshman your perfect  budget option. 

Sergio Aguero did not start last week and missed a penalty when he came on as a substitute, but every time he plays at home, you just cannot ignore him. He has not found the net in the last two games, which tells you a big haul is around the corner. 

With seven goals, Diego Costa is the top scorer in the league. Unless David de Gea stages another Herculean performance, Costa should score against the Red Devils, given the form he is in. 

The only player to score a hattrick so far, Romelu Lukaku did not have an ideal start to the campaign. But the Belgian has got back his goalscoring form since GW4 and have scored six times in five games. Against Burnley, you would expect him to score.
