Tharanga to lead SL in SA ODIs

Sri Lanka on Wednesday named batsman Upul Tharanga as captain in place of the injured Angelo Mathews for the ODI series against South Africa starting this weekend.

The left-hander's appointment was announced in a statement from Sri Lanka Cricket.

Sri Lanka will play five ODIs against South Africa, beginning in Port Elizabeth on Saturday, after a Twenty20 series which wraps up later Wednesday.
