India captain Virat Kohli became the first batsman in Test history to score double centuries in four successive series, when he scored 204 against Bangladesh in one-off Test match in Hyderabad today.

The 28-year-old skipper went past legends including Australia's Donald Bradman and his compatriot Rahul Dravid, who both compiled double tons in three consecutive series. Kohli’s dominant knock was stopped at 204 when he was lbw to Taijul Islam with India at 495 for 5 after 125.1 overs.

Kohli faced 246 balls for his 204, and he struck 24 boundaries to the delight of his teammates and the home crowd at Hyderabad. He looked totally in control, and was rarely troubled by the Bangladesh bowlers throughout his belligerent innings.

He became the second captain to score four double centuries for his country. Virat Kohli's streak began on India' tour to West Indies last year. He scored 200 against West Indies, 211 against New Zealand, 235 against England and 204 against Bangladesh. Indian skipper started the day from where he had left on Thursday, with two thumping boundaries off Taskin Ahmed.
