Work goes on in full swing for the construction of Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Flyover in Chittagong. Around 80 percent of work of the 5.2km flyover from the city's Muradpur to Lalkhan Bazar has been completed. The Bailey bridge over the Sutia river collapsed early yesterday when a rice-laden lorry was crossing it. The collapse suspended road communication between Mymensingh district and Phulbaria upazila for nine hours. The bridge was built a year ago as diversion whilst a new bridge was being built.
