Britain will always remain with Bangladesh in its stride towards development, said British lawmakers at an event on Monday marking Bangladesh's Independence Day at the UK Houses of Parliament.

Some 60 MPs from Conservative Party, Labour Party, and Scottish National Party, including Rushanara Ali, Rupa Huq and Tulip Siddiq attended the event organised by the UK Awami League.

The British MPs pledged to work with Bangladesh for the advancement of its people.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the UK Nazmul Quaunine also attended the event.
