A Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinee was choked to death today after her scarf got tangled with the wheel of a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Noakhali municipality.

Deceased Nazmun Nahar Raha, 18, daughter of Abu Hasan of Sonapur, was a student of Noakhali Government Women’s College, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Model Police Station.

The incident occurred when she was going to her exam centre at Noakhali Government College by an auto-rickshaw, locally known as easy bike, in the morning, the police official said.

She was rushed to Noakhali General Hospital where doctors declared her dead, he added.

A general diary has been filed with the police station in this connection.
