Hawker killed in Sayedabad road crash

A hawker was crushed under the wheels of an inter-district bus in Sayedabad bus terminal area of Dhaka this morning.

Deceased Ruhul Amin, 25, used to sell handkerchief and dust masks in buses, said Abdul Awal, a sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station, quoting witnesses.

When Ruhul Amin was getting down from the bus, he fell on the road and went under the wheels of the same vehicle, the SI said.

"He was run over by a bus of ‘Falguni Paribahan’ around 9:00am," according to an eye witness, Rafiq.

The driver fled the scene soon after the accident, said Anisur Rahman, officer- in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station.
