Abahani beat Mohammedan by 27 runs
Abahani Limited v Mohammedan Sporting Club
Despite skipper Raqibul Hasan’s brilliant knock of 190, his side Mohammedan Sporting Club went down by 27 runs against their arch-rival Abahani Limited in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match at BKSP’s No. 4 Ground today.
Chasing the mammoth target of 367, Mohammedan were in deep trouble as they lost early wickets and were tottering at 3-38 inside nine overs. However, the 4th wicket stand of 175 in 21 overs brought them back into the contest with Raqibul firing in all cylinders. The 8th wicket stand of 44 in 6.1 overs brought Mohammedan close to their target, which proved too tall in the end.
Raqibul hammered 190 from 138 balls. His outstanding innings contained 17 fours and 10 sixes. Charith Asalanka made 63 from 60. For Abahani, Manan Sharma captured 5-45 in 10 overs to peg back Mohammedan today.
Earlier, hundreds from Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain Shanto propelled Abahani Limited to 366/5 after 50 overs. Abahani captain Mohammad Mithun won the toss and didn’t hesitate in deciding to bat first on the belter of a wicket at BKSP. His team took control of the game with the 103-run stand in 16 overs for the 1st wicket, followed by 2nd wicket partnership of 109 in 16.1 overs. The late impetus came during the 5th wicket stand of 90 in 9 overs to take Abahani to 366 in the end.
Liton smashed 135 runs from 103 balls, and his knock contained 15 fours and two sixes. Nazmul’ 110 came from 100 balls. Shuvagata Hom was unbeaten on 48 from 27 balls. For Mohammedan, Taijul Islam was the most successful bowler with 3-57 in 10 overs.

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club v Victoria Sporting Club
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club gave Victoria Sporting Club a 119-run beating at the BKSP’s No.3 Ground today.
Victoria were never in the contest after they lost quick wickets in their chase of 340 and were struggling at 4-39 inside seven overs. The 5th wicket stand of 96 in 19 overs helped Victoria to bring down the deficit in the end. Shafiul Hayet’s 66 from 65 balls and Moinul Islam’s 64 allowed Victoria to cross 200.
Prime DSC’s Arafat Sunny took 6-56 in 9.5 overs to wreck Victoria’s top-order.
Earlier, Abdul Mazid’s 116 and Chathuranga Silva’s 64 enabled Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club to reach 339/6 in 50 overs. After Prime DSC captain Farhad Reza elected to bat first, his team were on the ascendency with a solid top-order performance and reached 2-163 inside 34 overs when Shahriar Nafees was dismissed.
After Abdul laid the foundation with his 116 from 114 balls (seven fours, five sixes), Chathuranga provided the finishing touch with his whirlwind knock of 64 from 25 balls that contained six fours and fours sixes. The 5th wicket stand produced 87 runs in 6.3 overs to take Prime DSC to their colossal total.
For Victoria, Mahbubul Alam and Mohammad Arafat took two wickets each.

Legends of Rupganj v Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity
Legends of Rupganj defeated Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by 28 runs at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah today.
Chasing a moderate target of 240, Khelaghar lost a wicket in the first ball of the innings. However, opener Saluddin Pappu started aggressively to score a quick 38 from 27 balls before getting out with the score at 62.
Khelaghar kept losing wickets at regular intervals and only Namus Saddat(52) and Nazimuddin(59) provided some resistance. Once skipper Nafis Iqbal was run out, Khelaghar innings slowly crumbled and they were eventually bowled out for 211.
Mohammad Sharif, Raza Ali and Mosharraf Hossain each took three wickets to help Rupganj win the game.
Earlier, Legends of Rupganj were all out for 239 in 49.5 overs. Legends of Rupganj opted to bat first, and after a 44-run stand for the 1st wicket, they soon found themselves in deep trouble as wickets kept falling and were struggling at 5-105 inside 26 overs. The 6th wicket partnership of 94 in 17.2 overs stopped the rot and helped Legends of Rupganj reach 239 in the end.
Yasir Ali was the highest scorer for Legends of Rupganj with his 59 from 69 balls. Raza Ali Dar chipped in with 46 while Hasanuzzaman made 36.
For Khelaghar, Tanvir Islam captured 3-54 in nine overs to peg back their opponents at Fatullah today.
