Biswajit murder: Death reference, appeals hearing begin

The High Court today started hearing on the death reference and appeal in sensational Biswajit murder case.

The bench of justice Md Ruhul Quddus and Justice Vishmodev Chakrabarti began the hearing on May 16 with deputy attorney general Nasibur Rahamn placing argument.

DAG Nazibur today finished placing his argument praying the HC to uphold conviction and sentences of the convict of the case.

The HC bench fixed tomorrow for hearing the defence argument.

On December 18, 2013, a Dhaka court sentenced eight BCL activists to death and 13 others to life imprisonment for killing tailor Biswajit Das. BCL activists of Jagannath University unit hacked Biswajit, 24, to death at Shakharibazar in the capital.
