Abahani annihilate Mohammedan by 5 wickets
Abhani Limited overtook the target of 101 runs in 15.3 overs and in the process thumped Mohammedan Sporting Club by five wickets in the Super League match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP-3, Savar today.
Chasing a meager target of 101, Abahani rode on the blistering opening partnership of 61 runs in 5.2 overs. Liton Das came out to bat like a man possessed and smashed 50 off 22 balls. He struck four four’s and five sixes in his match-winning knock.
For Mohammedan Jubair Hossain and Shamsur Rahman picked up two wickets each. Shamsur took 2-7 in 2.3 overs.
Earlier, a terrific bowling performance from Manan Sharma and Saqlain Sajib saw Abahani Limited bowl out arch-rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club for just 100 runs. Mohammedan captain Shamsur Rahman won the toss and elected to bat first but his side suffered a dramatic collapse after the first wicket stand of 32 in 5.3 overs and were struggling at 5-42 inside 11 overs. Manan’s four wicket burst didn’t allow Mohammedan’s lower order to put up any resistance, and Abahani managed to bowl out their rivals in just 33.4 overs.
Only five Mohammedan batsmen reached double figures, Shamsur Rahman top scoring with 23 runs from 22 balls. In-form batsman Rony Talukder was removed for zero by Saqlain Sajib who picked up three wickets.

Gazi Group Cricketers v Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi were restricted to 173 all out thanks to a fine bowling performance from Abu Haider which saw Gazi Group Cricketers win by a massive 177 runs in the Super League match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah today.
Abu Haider picked up six wickets for just 35 runs and demolished the Sheikh Jamal batting order.
Chasing a massive target of 351, only five Sheikh Jamal batsmen reached double figures. Prashant Chopra scored 37 from 36 balls at the top of the innings while Ziaur Rahman scored a quick-fire 29-ball 46 at the end to allow Sheikh Jamal to score 173.
Gurkeet Singh picked up 2 wickets to contribute to Sheikh Jamal’s cause.
Earlier, Nasir Hossain was in blistering form as Gazi Group Cricketers notched up 350 runs after being put into bat by Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
Nasir scored a 113-ball 134, an innings that contained seven boundaries and six sixes. Mominul Haque also contributed at the top with 66 runs.
The fifth-wicket partnership of 147 runs from 21.3 overs between Gurkeerat Singh and Nasir propelled Gazi towards the massive total. Gurkeerat scored 74 from 60 balls while Nasir’s innings ended after he retired hurt for 134.
Ziaur Rahman and Elias Sunny each picked up two wickets for Sheikh Jamal.

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club won by six wickets against Prime Bank Cricket Club in the Super League match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP-4, Savar today.
Chasing a target of 242 runs, Prime Doleshwar picked off the runs in 48.4 overs thanks to Marshall Ayub’s 89-ball 84. His innings contained ten fours and one six.
Third-wicket partnership of 142 runs from 29.4 overs between Shariar Nafees and Ayub ensured victory for Prime Doleshwar. Nafees scored 78 off 129 balls.
Raihan Uddin picked up two wickets for Prime Bank.
Earlier,Prime Bank Cricket Club posted a respectable total of 241 for the loss of eight wickets against Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club.
Mehedi Maruf started the Prime Bank innings in brisk fashion as he scored a run-a-ball 44. Abhimanyu Easwaran held the innings together with his knock of 71 while wickets fell around him.
Prime Bank middle order didn’t put up enough fight but batsman Asif Ahmed contributed with a 71-ball 62 to allow his side to post a respectable total.
Rajat Bhatia picked up three wickets while Arafat Sunny took two wickets for Prime Doleshwar.
