Alia, Shahid groove in Gulaabo

The first song of Alia Bhatt-Shahid Kapoor-starrer “Shaandaar” was released with much fanfare on Thursday evening. Titled “Gulaabo”, it is a peppy number where we see Alia and Shahid having a midnight party amidst a countryside set-up after they sneak out of the wedding house. The song also features Shahid's step sister Sanah Kapoor.

“Shaandaar” is Vikas Bahl's latest directorial venture, with destination wedding being the premise of the story.

The lead pair also performed live at the launch of the song, and Shahid shared a small video of the performance on his Instagram account.

Anvita Dutt has written the lyrics for the song and Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani have lent their voices to the number. Anvita, who has also written the screenplay and dialogues for the film, has earlier given us quirky numbers like “London Thumakda” and “Jugni” from Kangana Ranaut-starrer “Queen” (2014). The lyrics of “Gulaabo”, too, has the makings of a hit song. Amit Trivedi has composed the music.

With its peppy music, quirky lyrics and stylish stars onscreen, the song has already created a buzz online with #Gulaabo trending on Twitter India on day of its launch.
