BNP wont allow one-sided polls: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today warned that her party would not let the government to hold one-sided election in the country.
“Awami League will try to hold one-sided election keeping BNP leaders aside by filling cases against them. I want to say no one-sided election would be allowed in the country and it would not be acceptable to anyone," she said.
She issued the note of warning at an Iftar party organised by Dhaka city unit BNP at Basundhara International Convention Centre in Dhaka this evening.
Criticising the government, the former premier also said, "Awami League fears most the election. They are thinking of clinging to power by other means but they would not be allowed to do so this time."
Urging the country people to vote for her party in next elections, she hoped that this time election will be inclusive one. "We want to participate in the elections but the polls should be held in a free and fair manner. That election should be held under an election-time supportive government."
Khaleda also called upon the party leaders and activists to be more united.
“Get united, the symbol “sheaf of paddy” will come out victorious in the next election,” she also said adding, “Let us make the party victorious to bring back peace, democracy and development in the country.”
