Body of missing BGB man found in Sangu

A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) man, who went missing following a boat capsize incident in Sangu River on Thursday, was found dead in remote Tindu area of Bandarban this afternoon.

The deceased, Jewel Rana, 22, remained traceless since 3:30pm Thursday. Jewel along with his team was returning to Thanchi camp from Boro Modok area following a joint drive operation against Arakan Army, said BGB Bandarban Sector Commander Col Waliur Rahman.

Five BGB members swam ashore after their boat capsized in the Sangu River, but Jewel went missing, he added.

Following the incident, a rescue team of BGB and Army conducted the search and rescue operation to find out the missing BGB man.
