Rain and sufferings to continue for a while

Bangladesh is expected to get rainfall influenced by monsoon in the coming few days, further increasing the sufferings of people. 

Met Office recorded 44mm rainfall in Dhaka city from 6:00am to 12noon today, Omar Faruk, an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told The Daily Star this afternoon.

According to him, the rain will continue for some time and there is no indication as to when the country will see clearer sky in the next few days.

Today’s downpour inundated parts of Dhaka city including Karwan Bazar, Farmgate, Bashundhara, Dhanmondi, Nikunja and Mirpur, according to various sources.

Weather forecast says, a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh which extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over most parts of Bangladesh.
