Several of the 60 garment workers of NP Apparels in Fatulla receiving treatment at Narayanganj General Hospital yesterday. Over 100 workers, mostly women, started falling sick after having iftar at their workplace on Monday. Many of them became sick with diarrhoea while at work yesterday morning, said a worker. The factory was declared closed yesterday after the workers started to fall sick one after another, said Mamunur Rashid, managing director of NP Apparels. Resident Medical Officer of the hospital Asaduzzaman said 10 to 12 of the workers were admitted with diarrhoea and stomach pain complaints. The rest had been suffering from mass hysteria. Photo: Star
