Arbovirus release explosive “Bhenge Felo” video
Arbovirus, one of the most prominent rock bands of the country in the past decade, released a new music video on Tuesday. The track, “Bhenge Felo”, is from their latest album “Bishesh Droshtobbo” (2017).
The power-packed song, that lyrically reflects the band's social awareness and their voice of protest against all that is wrong with society, gets a chaotic, pyrotechnic visual makeover in the video. From social disparity to corporate culture, rajakars (collaborators of the Pakistan Army during the Liberation War), rapists and 'keyboard warriors' (big-talking people on social media and the web who do not do much in real life) – the song speaks of taking the fight to themselves against all evil. The video has the band perform in a parking structure of sorts, is at no shortage of the rage that the words and music exude – shattering mirrors, a flame-throwing guitar lighting up a female mannequin with stickers of obnoxious misogynistic Facebook comments wrapped around it, and as the band has often done on stage – smashing of guitars at the end.
Arbovirus, who broke out into Dhaka's underground rock music scene in the early 2000s, have long been one of the top acts at any rock concert. Their debut album, “64m 53s” came out in 2006, followed by 2013's “Montobyuo Nishproyojon” and “Bishesh Droshtobbo” earlier this year. The bands current lineup is: Sufi (vocals), Suharto (guitars, backing vocals) Ranjan (guitars, lyrics), Aldnane (bass) and Nafeez (drums).
