New Zealand wicket-keeper and batsman Luke Ronchi announced his retirement from all forms of International cricket.

The 36 year old his career playing for Australia, his debut was on June 27, 2008 in an ODI against the West Indies.

He donned the New Zealand jersey and debuted for New Zealand on May 2013 and became the first player to play for both Australia and New Zealand at International level.

He has been an important member of the team in the last four years and his unbeaten 170 from just 99 balls against Sri Lanka remains his best innings.

In a statement released by New Zealand cricket’s official site , Ronchi revealed how he felt playing for the Blackcaps. "It was a dream come true," he said.

"I can't think of a better time to have been involved with New Zealand cricket. From the 2015 World Cup campaign, through to the overseas tours of that time and some amazing games and series, it's been a genuine highlight for me," Rochi added.

Ronchi is thankful for the encouragement and faith that was shown to him by the board.

Ronchi thanked the board for the encouragement and keeping the faith in him and said it will be the right time for him to spend the rest of his life with family.

According to New Zealand cricket site statement, Ronchi plans to continue playing in the domestic T20 leagues around the world and also for Wellington.

He is expected to move to England to represent Leicester.
