3 killed in Gazipur road crash

At least three people were killed and 12 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a human-hauler on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

The accident occurred when a Gazipur-bound cow-laden truck collided with the Chandra-bound human hauler Laguna in Mouchak area around 3:00pm, killing the three on the spot and injuring 12 others, our local correspondent reports quoting Kawsar Ahmed, sub-inspector of Konabari-Salna Highway Police Outpost.

Later, the victims were rushed to different local clinics. Five of the victims including a woman and a child were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital later as their condition deteriorated, he said.
