Mushfiqur visits Muktamoni at DMCH, offers support

Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim today visited 12-year-old Muktamoni, who is suffering from an “unknown” disease and undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The star cricketer went to the hospital around 1:30pm and stayed with Muktamoni for some time, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, national coordinator at National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of DMCH, told The Daily Star.

Mushfiqur assured Muktamoni’s father of all-out cooperation for her treatment, said Dr Samanta Lal.

“He also offered some cash to Mukamoni's father for her treatment,” he added.

Muktamoni, hailing from Satkhira, has been afflicted by the disease mainly in her right hand, the condition leading to her hand swelling up like a bee hive.

Dr Sen previously told The Daily Star that doctors may need to conduct four to five surgeries on her within five to six months.

Doctors suspect she has been suffering from blood deficiency and poor nutrition.
