Rumor claims Samsung will unleash its craziest smartphone ever in January
Samsung rolled out the stunning Galaxy S6 edge smartphone this year, but it looks like this is a mere prelude for what Samsung has planned for the next year, reports BGR news according to Yahoo Tech.
According to BGR.com, a rumor posted on Weibo claims Samsung is planning to unveil its first foldable smartphone this January after years of teasing us with foldable display prototypes.
According to the rumor, the phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM and an SD card slot.
Although rumors about foldable Samsung phones have circulated the web for years now, there is good reason to think this time Samsung might really be ready to unleash a foldable smartphone, as earlier this year Sam Mobile reported that the company was working on something called Project Valley that was described as a smartphone with two displays and "possibly foldable."
Given that, even if Samsung does release a smartphone with a foldable display next year, that does not mean it will be any good, reports BGR.com according to Yahoo Tech.
Remember Samsung's first device with a flexible display, 2013's Galaxy Round?
Well that was largely a pointless gimmick. It was only two years later that Samsung's ambitions for flexible displays really panned out with the Galaxy S6 edge, so even if Samsung's first foldable display phone is a dud, that doesn't mean the technology will never be useful, reports BGR.com according to Yahoo Tech.
