Tufan, Marzia remanded again over Bogra rape
Prime accused in Bogra college student rape, Tufan Sarkar, and his sister in-law have been remanded yet again in the case that has sparked a national outcry.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Ahsan Habib granted police the third remand to interrogate the duo in custody for two days, our local correspondent reports.
Today, after completion of their second-term remand, police produced them before court and sought them in custody for five more days. Magistrate Habib granted them two.
On the other hand, Tufan’s aide Munna has given confessional statement before the court under section 164 today accepting the charge brought against him.

Doctors found evidence of rape
Doctors found evidence of rape after conducting a forensic test on the victim, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo quoting police.
A medical board in Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital examined the girl on Monday and found evidence of rape, the daily reports quoting Abul Kalam Azad, investigation officer of the case and also an inspector of Bogra Sadar Police Station.
The medical board was headed by AKM Saiful Islam, head of forensic medicine department at the hospital. Inspector Azad has already received the forensic test report. The report said that the victim is underage, the daily reported.
Tufan allegedly abducted the female student from her home on July 17, raped her and then asked his party cadres and woman councillor Rumki to make sure everything was hushed up.
They, in their attempt to muffle the victim, picked up the student and her mother, tortured them for four hours and then shaved their heads.
Bogra district Sramik League later suspended Tufan over the rape allegation.
Md Asaduzzaman, Bogra district superintendent of police, said they would submit the charge sheet of the case soon after completing the investigation.
