2 ‘BCL men’ hacked in Sylhet
Unidentified miscreants hacked two “Bangladesh Chhatra League activists” at Sobhanighat area in Sylhet city this afternoon.
The injured are identified as Sahin Ahmed, son of Nurul Amin of Tukerbazar of Sadar upazila and Abul Kalam Asif, son of Jalal Uddin of Uposhohor area in the city, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
Completing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams from Jalalabad College, Sahin was enrolled at Metropolitan University and Asif at Madan Mohan College for bachelor degree.
The attackers stabbed in their hands and legs severely with sharp weapons when the duo went to Jalalabad College this afternoon, witnesses said.
Last reported, critically wounded, Sahin was being taken to Dhaka while Asif was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, police said.
Sylhet Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Gousul Alam said they were hacked in a factional clash of BCL.
Meanwhile, Abdul Alim Tushar, general secretary of BCL Sylhet metro unit, said the injured are activists of BCL and they were attacked by a group of Shibir activists.
