The final results of 36th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations are likely to be published by the end of September, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The results of the 37th BCS written examinations are also likely to be published by the end of next month, the daily reports quoting sources at the Public Service Commission (PSC).

“We are relentlessly working on to publish the results (36th BCS final result and 37th BCS written test) by the end of September,” PSC Chairman Dr Muhammed Sadique told the daily.

“We are also working on the applications for the 38th BCS. Besides, we are working on the written and viva tests of applicants for various non-cadre posts. We are trying to complete the tasks in the shortest possible time,” he said. 

The preliminary examination for the 38th BCS may be held by the end of October, the PSC chief added.

A total of 5,990 applicants passed in the 36th BCS written examination. The PSC issued a circular on recruiting 2,180 candidates as first class gazetted officers on May 31, 2015. The preliminary examination for 36th BCS was held on January 8 last year, in which only 13, 679 out of over two lakh candidates managed to qualify.

The written examination was later held on September last year in which 12,468 candidates took part, PSC sources added.
