Famous Bangla film actor Salman Shah’s mother Nilufar Chowdhury Neela today sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention bringing the people, who were responsible for the death of her son, to book for justice.

“I want legal support and intervention from the prime minister. I believe in the law and also believe that I would get justice,” Neela said.

She made the appeal while addressing a press conference in London, reports private television channel Somoy TV.

Repeatedly mentioning that her son was killed by a group of people, Neela said the authorities should interrogate Salman Shah’s beautician Rabeya Sultana Rubi to find out the fact behind the incident.

“Please repatriate her (Rubi is now in the United States) for the sake of fair investigation into the killing incident,” she said calling upon the countrymen including journalists to stand beside her.

She also claimed that her husband was forced to lodge an unnatural death case in this connection.

A video recently posted by Rubi, an accused in the case, has gone viral on social media.

She in the video claimed, “Salman Shah didn't kill himself, he was murdered".

The popular silver screen actor in the 90s mysteriously died on September 6, 1996 at the age of 25. Following the death, his father Kamaruddin Chowdhury had filed an unnatural death case, which later turned into a murder case after one Rezvi Ahmed in a confessional statement said he had killed Salman with the help of Salman's wife, mother-in-law and eight other people. Rezvi, however, later disowned his confession given before the police.

Detective Branch, Criminal Investigation Department of police and a judicial probe body investigated the case separately and submitted their reports stating that Salman's death was a case of unnatural death, which Salman Shah's family rejected.

On December 7, 2016, a Dhaka court asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to carry out further investigation into the case.

The case accused 11 persons, including the actor's wife Samira Haque, and producer and businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai.
