SLIMY HATIRJHEEL

If you ignore the arcs on an overpass in the background, the turquoise coat with glutinous, fissured texture might appear to you as wonderful pieces of abstract art on huge canvases. But these are actually big swathes of foul-smelling slime that are filling the Hatirjheel lake, one of the very few places in the capital where people go to catch a breath of fresh air. The photos were taken yesterday from the Madhubagh and Nayatola sides of Hatirjheel. Photo: Anisur Rahman
