Four tourists missing in Bandarban, Sylhet
Four tourists have been missing at Bandarban's Tinap Saitar Waterfall and on the Piain river at Sylhet's Jaflong area in last two days.
In Bandarban, two tourists went missing in remote Tinap Saitar Waterfall, a tourist spot under Ruma upazila, on Monday afternoon.
The tourists are identified as Huzzatul Gani, 31, of Chakaria in Chittagong and Shahidul Alam of Barisal.
They went missing while bathing in the waterfall along with their friends around 4:00pm.
Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Ruma police, confirmed the incident and said it took time to reach the spot as the area is very remote.
In Sylhet, the floating body of one of the two missing youths in the Piain was recovered yesterday.
College students Faisal Hossain Sourav, 18, and Kamal Sheikh, 18, came to Jaflong yesterday and went missing in the river around 2:00pm.
Sourav, son of Sirajul Moula of Uttar Ambagan at Pahartali in Chittagong, and Kamal, son of Rashid Sheikh of Mutabhita of Bhaluka in Mymensingh, went separately to the tourist spot with their friends.
Divers of the Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered Kamal's body. Search for Sourav was on, said Hillol Roy, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat police.
