‘Hizb-ut Tahrir militant’ held in Mohammadpur

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have detained an alleged activist of the banned militant outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir from Mohammadpur area of Dhaka.

The detainee was identified as Mahmudul Hasan Robin, 25, said Rabiul Islam, operation officer of Rab-2.

On information that Robin was distributing jihadi leaflets, a team of Rab-2 detained him near Baitus Salam mosque of Iqbal Road at Mohammadpur during Juma prayers yesterday, the Rab official said.

Some jihadi leaflets were also seized from the detainee, the official added.

A case will be filed against Robin, he said.
