BNP today expressed solidarity with the protesting medical and dental college admission seekers, and demanded that the government cancels results of MBBS and BDS admission tests and holds fresh examinations.

"The question papers of the combined admission tests for the country's medical and dental colleges got leaked. It was a fake exam. The results announced by the health department today must be annulled. Our party demands fresh admission tests for the medical and dental colleges," BNP Spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon said.

At a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office, Ripon urged the government to take strong measures to prevent question paper leakage in future.

Ripon also extended his party's moral support to the movement of the admission seekers demanding a retake of the medical and dental tests over the allegations of question paper leakage.

Instead of identifying the culprits involved in the question paper leakage, the government published the results showing its obstinacy, Ripon alleged.

Meanwhile, the admission seekers threatened to go for tougher programmes demanding a retake of the tests alleging question paper leak.

The demand was placed from a programme near Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka under the banner of Students Seeking Admission in Public Medical Colleges.

Questions were available by Thursday night, a day ahead of the exams, Hasibul Hossain, convener of the platform, told The Daily Star.
